Starting Seeds. (Please scroll to bottom so you do not miss a resource)

Every county in NYS has a Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE). Many of these CCEs host spring classes and workshops on seed starting. Keep an eye on your county’s or surrounding county’s CCE website for local seed starting events. To find your local CCEs, go to https://cals.cornell.edu/cornell-cooperative-extension/local-offices and click on your county or the counties near you.

If you start your seeds indoors, you must harden them off prior to transplanting. This short article from the Illinois Extension describes the process. https://extension.illinois.edu/blogs/good-growing/2020-04-06-starting-garden-hardening-indoor-seedlings

A 2-page handout from Lori Brewer/Cornell's Garden Based Learning program that covers selecting seed varieties, supplies you'll need to start seeds indoors, germination specifics, and more.
