Course Schedule and Participant Guide
Overview
This course is the second part of learning about what type of farm business you want to start and how you will measure progress. The first part was the BF 101: Starting at Square One course. You can take this course without taking BF 101 first!
The first week of BF 102 is the only week of overlap with BF 101. We want all learners to further refine mission/vision/goals or to start the process and then start on a marketing plan.
Webinar Schedule
Live instruction for 2025 has concluded. You are welcome to complete this course on a self-paced schedule and join our next live session in Winter 2026. All webinars are recorded and posted here in your online classroom to watch anytime. Once enrolled in this course, you will retain access to all materials indefinitely and may return to participate in future live offerings of the course as well. Please join us!
To access the webinars during our next live session, you will simply need to click on the webinar link that was emailed to you. Please do not share this link outside of this course.

Week 1 – Planning
You will leave with YOUR farm's mission statement and values clarification.
Week 2 – Marketing
You will leave with YOUR farm's marketing mix.
Week 3 – Sales
You will leave with YOUR farm's marketing channel assessment.
Week 4 – Financial Statements
You will leave with YOUR farm's recordkeeping plan.
Week 5 – Budgets
You will leave with YOUR farm's partial budget.
Week 6 – Wrapping Up
You will leave with YOUR plan for next steps and lessons learned.
Each week follow the SAME format.
Live Session via Zoom (Thursdays at 6pm - recorded)
And then the following Friday mornings the rest of the unit opens.
